Here are some basic car safety tips for teens and college student drivers.

1. Do not drive distracted. Avoid texting, eating or blasting music while driving.

2. Make sure your car always has gas in it. Check your gauge to make sure it's not empty.

3. Do not speed and obey the speed limit. Excessive speed is one of the main causes of teenage accidents.

3. Wear your seat belt at all times! Also make sure that all your passengers wear their seat belts.

5. Have an auto emergency kit on your car for any emergencies.
